Fly from the Archerfield airport towards the city on this shared flight overlooking the University of Queensland, St Lucia campus. Follow the Brisbane River around to Suncorp Stadium and circle around the spectacular towering skyline of the CBD.
Get a birds eye view of the Story Bridge and the famous Gabba Stadium, continuing to track around the Brisbane River across South Bank before heading back out towards Archerfield over the inner city suburbs. The Brisbane Helicopter Tour has it all! What a way to view our beautiful city!
Arrive at Archerfield airport approximately 30 minutes before your scheduled departure. (Further details will be emailed to you upon booking.)
From the airport, the journey begins heading northward, with views over Tarragindi and the Fairfield.
After a stretch of mountainous suburbs and a trek alongside the Brisbane River, you’ll approach the first of 2 sporting stadiums you’ll encounter on this experience. Situated in Woolloongabba, and appropriately named ‘The Gabba’ – it is internationally famous for its presence in the world cricket community, and is more locally known for regular AFL matches (Aussie Rules Football).
A long stretch of cliff face ~20 metres tall, just shy of the Brisbane river opposite the botanic gardens… it’s no wonder this is a hub for abseiling and a range of other activities. You are at the cusp of the city now – hold tight, this is where things get really awesome!
Next to the cliffs is the Story Bridge, which connects Kangaroo Point to Fortitude Valley. Regular Story Bridge Climbing tours take place here, due to it’s breathtaking view of the city. Not quite as cool as a helitour over it though!
Moving on over the city and into Roma Street, which hosts the primary train station of Queensland for inter-state travel, and the serene Roma Street Parklands. The parklands are home to a vast collective of flora and fauna, and an amphitheatre which regular showcases family events and entertainment.
As you head westward, you’ll experience the second sporting icon of your trip – Suncorp Stadium! Also known as Lang Park, this is home to the Brisbane Broncos & Brisbane Roar (rugby league and soccer). If you’re lucky, you might even get to see a game being played from above!
Overlook the incredibly beautiful South Bank Parklands, nestled around ‘Streets Beach’ – Brisbane’s only man-made beach. Next to it lies the iconic Wheel of Brisbane – a 60-meter tall Ferris Wheel situated along the river and next to the State Library and Cultural Centre. The list goes on and on. Just see it, seriously.
Back home, safe and sound. That was fun wasn’t it? Purchase a video of the trip from the office and then head back onto AirShare and book your next adventure.
