Starting at Archerfield Airport this helicopter ride will take you over the Brisbane city where you will see the city, Southbank, all the stadiums around Brisbane along with Mt. Coot-tha and the TV towers. Once you are on the north side of Brisbane city you will start to get a glimpse of the main event! The Glasshouse Mountains, an incredible group of huge mountains 80km north of Brisbane nestled in the gorgeous Sunshine Coast hinterlands.
The mountains are dated at 25 million years old and volcanic plugs, the result of lava spewing out from the earth over millions of years ago. The landscape now is mostly flat apart from the giant mountains that stick out of ground creating weird and wonderful shapes. They get their name from explorer Captain Cook, he remarked that they looked like the smoke stacks of factories back in England.
This scenic flight is a very incredible experience, giving you wonderful views of the Brisbane City from your own helicopter, to the breathtaking landscapes of the glass house mountains. This memorable scenic flight is something to celebrate!
