The Tasman Island and Three Capes Helicopter Tour is a photographers paradise as you the scenic flight absorbs the various islands and capes past the south-east coast of Tasmania.
As the chopper departs from Cambridge Aerodrome in Hobart, you’ll set southward over Storm Bay and the Tasman Peninsula. As the chopper continues, you’ll fly past the chaotic surf break of Ship Stern Bluff in Cape Raoul. A surf break not for the faint of heart, some of the best surfing is considered to come from around this region. Just past here, you’ll continue to fly alongside Port Arthur – a historical area in Australian history which draws visitors in droves.
As you continue your journey, you’ll navigate past the Three Capes and overlook the incredible scenery of the remote southern coast of Tasmania. The terrain is quite rugged and desolate which makes for some incredible aerial viewing. The Three Capes out in this area are some of the tallest sea cliffs in the southern hemisphere. As you shoot along past the cliffs and southern coastline, you’ll eventually arrive at the Tasman Island, glowing in all its beauty. The chopper will fly around so you can get some awesome shots of the island, before heading back toward the mainland, experiencing the Tasmanian coastline once again.
