About 1 hour’s drive south from the Adelaide City Centre is Middleton Beach – A great beach town with one of the more relaxed natures in South Australia. The beach is pristine and it’s a popular landing spot for skydivers in South Australia. If you’re based in right in Adelaide, then we highly recommend the Semaphore Beach Skydiving Experience, however if you’re further south then the Middleton Beach Skydive serves as a cheaper alternative and is still totally awesome! With a wide range of dives, you have the flexibility to pick and choose which elevation suits you best. We’ve collated some information below to help you decide which skydive is right for you!
6,000 Ft Taster Tandem Skydive
You’ve heard about how good skydiving is. You want to try it but you might be low on funds or the thought of jumping 15,000ft is beyond comprehension. Try out the 6,000 ft skydive! Still as a taster, it’s enough to get anyone’s blood pumping. After all – it’s still jumping out of a plane at 6,000 feet! It’s mighty fun and you’ll get an awesome scenic flight on a fixed-wing aircraft.
9,000 Ft Beginner Tandem Skydive
If you want something a bit more substantial than the taster, the 9,000 ft skydive is a great way to feel the adrenaline of a fully-fledged skydive without breaking the bank. On this one, you’ll free-fall for over 30 seconds and glide back down to Middleton Beach for the remaining 4-5 minutes.
12,000 Ft Intermediate Tandem Skydive
This is where things start to get serious. Jumping out of a plane at 12,000 is definitely a thrilling experience which will endure you through a ~50 second free-fall and 5 minute glide back to ground. If you like to push the boundaries a little, then 12,000ft is pretty good! It’s not quite as exhilarating as the extreme 15,000ft tandem dive, but it’s not far off!
15,000 Ft Extreme Tandem Skydive
This is the monster. Are you game to try the ‘big-dog’ of skydives? After getting all suited up for the big jump, you’ll head out to the airplane and be taken on a 20 minute scenic flight over the southern coast of South Australia. On the climb up to 15, you’ll have views out to Kangaroo Island and the ridge which yields easterly. When you reach the massive elevation of 15,000 feet, it’s time to jump! On the way down, you’ll reach speeds up to 290km/h on a 70 second free-fall before releasing the parachute and gliding for 7 minutes.
